No April fool: I’m happy to share that the 2026 edition of Everyday Rails Testing with RSpec is here. I didn’t wait seven years between updates this time, so not as much has changed from the previous version this time. The investments I made last time in a more sustainable approach are paying off!
But there’s still plenty to check out. The book and sample source code have been updated for Rails 8.1 and Ruby 4.0, and I’ve added a little more coverage about system specs based on my real experiences rebuilding the sample app for this edition.
And of course, if you’ve ever purchased a copy on Leanpub, you can download your copy of the 2026 edition now for free. New to my work? Grab a copy of the book now and start learning to test with confidence!
I hope you enjoy this edition of the book. Stay safe out there, and keep writing software for fun, good, and sometimes profit.
